Graham Jones

Inducted 2022

Starting his career in 1978/79 as WASDA Rookie of the Year, proud West Australian Graham Jones’ racing resume has been punctuated with a long list of blue ribbons, highlighted by winning the 1989/90 Australian Speedcar Championship at Rockhampton Qld.

Graham is renowned for sharing an unbeaten record with fellow Hall of Famer John Fenton for winning 7 features in a row at Claremont Speedway. He would go on to total 40 feature wins at Claremont including one in a Sprintcar!

Graham also claimed the checker in 1987/88 at Western Springs NZ against literally the greatest midget drivers in the world, won two WA state titles and one Northern Territory title, while also claiming two Laurie Mathews Memorials, four President Cups and was crowned Winfield Driver of the Year three times.

Graham has continued his involvement in speedway as a car owner netting the 2013 Magic Man with Alex Bright, the 2019 John Day Speedcar Classic with Michael Pickens, (an event which he founded along with Fenton and Wayne Cover) and the 2022 WA State Title with Kaiden Manders.
